What is Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with human function and movement, and maximising physical potential.

Physiotherapists:

  • are extensively trained in the assessment, diagnosis and comprehensive management of all musculoskeletal problems
  • use hands on treatment techniques to promote, restore and maintain physical function
  • provide advice on self management and exercises to maintain well-being

Physiotherapy is science-based. Clinical skills and judgement are continually developed and updated after reviewing and evaluating the research evidence that underpins the profession.

Physiotherapists work in a wide variety of health settings and we at Maroubra Physiotherapy specialise in the treatment of sports injuries, spinal problems and muscle and joint injuries.
